Answers to the most common queries
If your question isn’t answered here, get in touch: we reply within 24 business hours and always in confidence.
What should I do if I've been summoned to give a statement as an investigated person or detainee?
The first thing is not to give a statement without a lawyer. Attend the appointment accompanied by a lawyer you trust: you have the right to remain silent and to consult privately with your lawyer before giving any statement. Contact us as soon as possible so we can prepare for the proceeding with enough time.
Do you provide assistance to detainees outside normal business hours?
Yes. We have a 24-hour helpline for detainees, 365 days a year. A lawyer from the firm will travel to the police station or the duty court as quickly as possible.
Do you handle cases outside Madrid?
Yes. Although our physical office is in Madrid, the firm handles proceedings throughout Spain, as well as before the National Court, the Supreme Court and international judicial cooperation bodies.
Can you help with a family member held in a prison?
Yes. We handle applications for progression to a different prison grade, release permits, parole, appeals against disciplinary sanctions and any other matter before the Prison Supervision Court, as well as pardon applications where appropriate.
Do you work with foreign clients or extradition proceedings?
Yes. We take on defense cases in passive extradition proceedings and European Arrest Warrant (EAW) procedures before the National Court, as well as providing assistance to non-resident clients with legal matters in Spain.
